I've been happily married to my husband, Dave and living in Oshawa since July of 2002. I discovered I have Asperger's Syndrome about a week before my 40th birthday. Since then I've taken various computer literacy courses at Durham Continuing Education and volunteering at Kerry's Place Autism services, as well as writing a book about my art and life with AS. I make dolls, puppets and many other wonderful things. SInce February of 2007 I've been a member of CMHA.. I am also a Peer SUpport Worker at CMHA and most weekdays I quit my Coffee Cart job just before Christmas but at least I've been having several catering jobs.

P.S. Pigs can fly!!

Rock 95 in Barrie  has lost their pig-shaped balloon!! It was last seen heading toward lake Simcoe!

Busy as a Buzzy Bee

It looks like we're in for a storm any second now.

Alan brought me some music CD's but I left them in my locker for the time being as instead of art class we went to the art gallery this afternoon and I didn't feel like carrying them around nor did I feel like going back to the clubhouse afterward. I'll bring them home on Monday.

On the way home I stopped at the dollar store and bought more roses to decorate my carousel horses. I should make other animals too such as perhaps lions, giraffes, elephants, etc. But there's already so much infinite variety in the horses alone to begin with!

Horsin' Around

Finished the latest batch of dolls yesterday and I want to make more! It gets so addictive! There are as many colour combinations as there are people in the real world, not counting when I start giving them unusual hair colours like green, blue, red, purple, hot pink and rainbow! I will definitely have these for sale at Wind Reach Farm on the 18th along with showing people the brochure about the Traveling Dolls.

Tomorrow I'll talk to Tara Enns. I couldn't talk to her on Tuesday because she had to take her daughter to the doctor.

I did not have my sale today because the weather was catsy this morning! It kept looking like it was about to rain. Sure enough it sunnied up this afternoon! GROAN! When the sun is shining and I'm not out there selling I feel kind of ripped off.

At least it gave me the chance to work on more carousel horses. I have at least six that just need their trappings and around that many that need everything else.

I can hardly wait for our meeting on Tuesday and the chance to make more Frequent Rider tags. I love it when my group works together with me on my special project. We have so much fun togetehr and there is such a spirit of teamwork and unity. I hope it will always be like this when the real thing finally comes to pass.

I FINALLY heard from Janette today! I'm glad she's okay and that she had a good time. I was getting kind of worried! One thing's for sure, if I ever go to North Bay, I WON'T be visiting the Quints museum. Too much damned crying in their video presentation!! But at least the carousels were excellent and I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures Janette took and possibly publishing some of the best ones in the August issue of Planet Nilknarf.

We had our callbacks today at the theatre. It was good of Doug, our director, to give me a ride there and back even though he was nearly 3/4 of an hour late and I was beginning to think he'd forgotten all about me. We will know by the end of the week who got what part in the show. There are so many talented people in the cast and he says he'd rather work with moderately talented people who get along well than very talented people who don't.

I started a new batch of dolls today but I'm not all that happy with them. Their heads are too small and their legs are too fat. I hope they look better once they have hair and clothes.
